Logistics Officer is involved in planning, forecasting and execution of the budget and inventory management of spare parts and other items required for day-to-day running of ships. He is also entrusted with meeting the food and clothing requirements of the personnel of the Indian Navy, which plays a crucial role in maintaining their morale. He is trained by the Navy in the field of Inventory Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management and Information Technology. You as a Logistics Officer would be responsible for management of Integrated Supply chain activities, using cutting edge technologies and suitable managerial skills. It is a challenging job where your contribution is crucial for successful achievement of mission objectives and at the same time provides you with enough scope for personal growth and advancement
Eligibility:
Age: 19½ to 25 years (born between 02 Jul 1985 and 01 Jan 1991; both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification:
A First Class Degree with minimum 60% aggregate marks from a recognised University in any of the following:
- B COM
- BA (Economics)
- MBA
- BBA
- BBM
- MCA
- BCA
- BSc
- B.Tech/BE(any discipline including civil engineering)
- B.Architecture
- Graduate Degree with Post Graduate Diploma / Degree in Materials Management
- ICWA
- Chartered Accountancy
- For Catering Officer(2 posts): Degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management
Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in educational qualification. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled during Jan to Jun 2010 at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.
Duties of the Logistics officer and Catering officer are as follows:
(a) Logistics Officer. As a Logistics Officer you will be dealing with the Logistics aspects of Men & Material for the Warships.
(b) Catering Officer. Two vacancies will be reserved for graduates in Hotel/Hospitality Management, who would be employed in the Navy ONLY for jobs directly related to their specialization.
On successful completion of training candidate will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenant.
