Permanent body tattoos are only allowed on the inner side of the forearms or the opposite side of the palm or back (dorsal) of the hand. Tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable.

- AA: Nine weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade.
- SSR: 22 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade.
