Indian Navy SSR AA Eligibility Criteria, Educational Qualification and Selection Process

Indian Navy SSR AA, also known as the Indian Navy Senior Secondary Recruits and Artificer Apprentice Eligibility Test, is a crucial component of the Indian Navy’s sailor department. Navy SSR AA Eligibility:

Nationality:

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have completed their 10th or 12th with Mathematics and Physics, along with at least one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science from a recognized educational board.

Age Limit:

  • The prescribed age limit, as per the official notification, requires candidates to be a minimum of 17.5 years and a maximum of 23 years.

Required Documents for Navy SSR AA:

Tattoos:

Permanent body tattoos are only allowed on the inner side of the forearms or the opposite side of the palm or back (dorsal) of the hand. Tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable.

Training and Advancements:

  • AA: Nine weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade.
  • SSR: 22 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade.

Work Environment or Job Roles:

  • SSR involves less technical work compared to AA.
  • AA job roles include working on advanced machinery and systems, such as steam-powered machinery, missiles, avionic equipment, and more.
  • SSR tasks may include operations of equipment like radars, sonars, communications, or firing weapons.
